Celebrating Eid is a command.
| This is the first Ramadan and Eid after the pandemic that the grand Mosque is and will be filled. Isn’t it amazing! Now, celebrating Eid is a command. I can’t understand why some families literally do not celebrate or do anything special for their loved ones, especially small children. They treat it like a normal day when it shouldn’t be. These are memories that your family will cherish so let’s make the most of it. I’ve heard people say, “Oh, there is nothing to do on Eid”. What I want to tell them that it's not what comes to you for Eid, but rather how you celebrate Eid. You are the leader in your house and it’s your job to ensure you do the necessary to create a celebration atmosphere for your family be it Eid salah, gift giving, special food and snacks. I’ve seen Muslims jump on the Christmas and Halloween bandwagon but have these lame excuses for Eid. Christmas, like Eid is a celebration and someone will have to do the hard work of planning and preparing for their loved ones be it cooking, décor and games. You don’t have to break the bank to have a celebration. You just shouldn’t have a lazy attitude. I found this video with stimulating ideas for Eid! Let's race to make every Eid better than the last! |
