Flying during a Pandemic
So can you really travel to USA during this pandemic and with border closures as they say? Well, I recently went to USA from KSA. I got the PCR test for flying. I had one transit in Europe. No one asked me for the PCR. They were more concerned with keeping the skies safe and offering me free extra personalized security checks :) However, on my way back to KSA, the negative PCR taken within 72 hours of traveling was checked several times at the many segments of the airport in USA, Germany and in KSA. They checked the date, name, ID and made sure it was a negative result. They did this for every passenger. There was no formal or mandatory quarantine. Basically, it is your choice if you quarantine or not.

Getting to know Perrie-Jay! =)
I was so glad to bump into the famous Perrie-Jay from Scotland. She is such an amazing person, fun, sweet, and extremely talented. She is a fantasy fiction author of her book titled Amber Moon, which can be bought on Amazon. When you read her book, it's like you are reading a segment of Game of Thrones or a trilogy of it (not that it exists, but I'm just saying.) She is an incredible writer! Photographer & Make-up Artist
If you are looking for an amazing make-up artist, then look no further. In every town there are amazing artists who specialize in Arab styled make-up and beauty. They will come to your house or place of event. They also have a room in their house dedicated for their side business. Such talent can be discovered just by asking the locals. I used a few in every town that I lived in and I am going to give a shout out to my favorite one in Riyadh. Her work is amazing and can be viewed on Instagram @mlaki_makeup. Enjoy!
There is another make-up artist and photographer who is very famous for her work. She is from Northern Borders but can travel if expenses are paid for. She specializes in western make-up styles as well as Khaleeji styles. If you are looking for that special female photographer and make-up artist, then look no further. She is very experienced. If you are looking for a costume or 3-D make - up artist, one that can make you look like you have been photo-shopped, then Maha is the perfect person for you. She specializes in hand art make-up. She can do blood and guts and she is amazing to work with. Check out her work at the links below.
Tax Time
So expat taxes are not the same as the taxes if one were to live on mainland America. I decided to use Taxes for Expats this year to see how different they are from a local accountant in the States. Turns out that they are very unique in that their initial survey and questionnaire is geared for expats and the norms of expats. Their online website and questionnaire was user-friendly and to the point.
You can save your work if you choose to and their site does not crash and is not slow, which is great considering how long taxes in general takes. Then, there is a CPA that will look over your questionnaire and will take it from there. Since everything is documented from the documents you upload to the correspondences, you can easily track everything which makes things a lot more organized.
My taxes are long and complex since I filed jointly. Our CPA was very quick, thorough and diligent in her professionalism with us. Whenever there was clarification needed, she would quickly email us and ask us what was needed in order for her to accurately process our taxes. She also answered our questions carefully and patiently. All the forms are clear-cut, easy to e-sign and very secure on their website. At times, my CPA was too quick for me but that is the quality of work you can expect from Taxes for Expats. Therefore, I definitely recommend them to any expat who needs to get their taxes done. 1. Go with someone who speaks Arabic and has been there before.
2. Don't go when they just open the doors since people line up for the doors to open and you can have longer wait times.
3. You will never get anything done in the women's section so its better to just get your stuff done from the men's section as it is quicker and they seem to know what they are doing (a bit).
