So it has been a very long time since I last blogged. During these months, a lot has happened. I visited so many neighboring places. One of the places that I visited which I will mention now is the place of Ziplala. Zipala is the place where there are archeological ruins of nearly 1000 years ago. It has wells and was a rest area for those who were on their way to Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage. This route started from Baghdad and brought you all the way to Makkah.  Today, it is fenced, and well preserved due to the lack of tourism. What lies there also are the ruins of an old castle of the Muslim empire. I am very fascinated with these, as you can see things, =) and I absolutely love venturing off the path and going into a beaten road. Of course, I did not discover it on my own, but one of my students and her family were so kind enough to take me and my family with them and we barbecued in the dessert, played soccer, and had a great time under the sun. Pictures shall follow later...
